Beacon Tutors receives various forms of payments from students, parents, and teachers in consideration of the services provided through the platform. All fees are charged strictly in relation to the services availed and are governed by the terms outlined below.

a) Application Processing Fee
When a student or parent contacts Beacon Tutors to request assistance in identifying a suitable tutor, an Application Processing Fee ranging between USD 10 to USD 30 is charged. The applicable amount may vary depending on the student’s geographic region. This fee covers the administrative, operational, and coordination efforts undertaken by the company, including requirement assessment, internal processing, and attempts to match the student with an appropriate tutor. The Application Processing Fee is non-refundable under all circumstances, regardless of the outcome, as it is charged for services rendered and resources utilized during the application process.
b) Application Maintenance Fee
Upon successful selection of a tutor and commencement of regular monthly classes, an Application Maintenance Fee ranging between USD 10 to USD 30 per month becomes applicable. This fee is charged in addition to the mutually agreed tuition fee.
For illustration, if the monthly tuition fee is USD 250, the total payable amount shall be the tuition fee plus the applicable maintenance fee.
The Application Maintenance Fee is non-refundable for the month in which it is paid, even if the student or parent discontinues the tuition for personal or other reasons.
However, in the event that a teacher formally discontinues or withdraws from the tuition, as confirmed by Beacon Tutors, the maintenance fee paid for the affected period shall be refundable to the student or parent. Where applicable, refunds may be processed through either of the following methods:
Direct transfer to the bank account provided by the student or parent, subject to deduction of applicable taxes and transfer charges, which shall be borne solely by the student or parent; or
Credit to the student’s or parent’s virtual wallet maintained on the platform, which may be utilized for future services but shall remain non-withdrawable.
Wallet credits issued by Beacon Tutors do not expire unless otherwise stated and may only be used for services offered through the platform.
2. Fees Applicable to Teachers
a) Registration Fee
Teachers are required to pay a Registration Fee prior to joining the Beacon Tutors platform. This fee is charged in advance for services including, but not limited to, profile creation, profile promotion, global visibility, and access to the company’s CRM system.
The Registration Fee is non-refundable, as the company allocates resources immediately upon payment for profile development, system access, and promotional activities. This fee is strictly charged for platform-related services and shall not be construed as a guarantee of tuition assignment, selection, or engagement by any student or parent.
For clarity, the Registration Fee and any commission charged by the company are separate and distinct charges, each applicable to different services provided by Beacon Tutors.
b) Commission on First Month’s Tuition
In the event that a teacher is shortlisted and successfully selected for a tuition, Beacon Tutors shall charge a commission equivalent to 50% of the first month’s tuition fee only. This commission is applied once and exclusively to the first month.
The commission is non-refundable and represents the company’s service charge for promotion, coordination, facilitation, and operational support related to the tutoring engagement.
3. Modification of Fees and Charges
Beacon Tutors reserves the absolute right, at its sole discretion, to modify, revise, increase, decrease, or introduce additional fees, charges, or commissions at any time without prior notice, where permitted by applicable law. Any such changes shall become effective immediately upon publication on the platform or incorporation into the Terms and Conditions. Continued use of the platform and its services shall constitute acceptance of the revised fee structure.
Final Compliance Note Beacon Tutors operates as a marketplace and service-based platform. All fees charged reflect the cost of operational infrastructure, technology, promotion, coordination, and support services. No fee should be interpreted as a guarantee of outcomes, engagements, or earnings.
