Definitions
This Definitions section forms an integral and binding part of the Terms and Conditions of Beacon Tutors International. The purpose of this section is to clearly define specific terms used throughout
all policies, procedures, and communications published on the website. Unless otherwise stated, the following terms shall have the meanings assigned below.
1. Company / Organisation / Beacon Tutors / Beacon Tutors International
The terms “Company,” “Organisation,” “Beacon Tutors,” and “Beacon Tutors International” collectively refer to the operating entity that manages and administers the online academic marketplace platform. Beacon Tutors operates as a structured digital marketplace facilitating introductions and coordination between independent Teachers and Students or Parents across multiple countries and educational systems. The Company provides administrative coordination, profile visibility, database management, tuition post publication, and operational support. The Company does not directly deliver academic instruction and does not employ Teachers. These terms may be used interchangeably throughout all policies.
2. Platform
“Platform” refers collectively to:
• The official website;
• The Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system;
• Designated communication channels;
• Tuition publication systems;
• Database infrastructure;
• Payment coordination mechanisms;
• Any digital or administrative system used to facilitate services.
The Platform is the operational environment through which marketplace services are conducted.
3. Teacher / Tutor / Resource
The terms “Teacher,” “Tutor,” and “Resource” refer to any individual possessing an academic background, subject knowledge, or educational expertise capable of providing academic instruction, tutoring services, or assignment assistance.
An individual may be considered a Teacher or Tutor regardless of whether they are registered on the Beacon Tutors platform.
Use of the term “Teacher” in general communication does not imply registration, employment, or affiliation with the Company.
4. Registered Teacher / Registered Tutor
A “Registered Teacher” or “Registered Tutor” refers specifically to a Teacher who:
• Has voluntarily completed the registration process with Beacon Tutors;
• Has provided academic and professional details for record purposes;
• Has completed the applicable registration or service fee payment;
• Has had their profile successfully stored within the Company’s CRM database;
• Has been granted access to designated registered teacher communication channels.
Registration provides access to platform visibility and opportunity notifications only.
Registration does not:
• Create an employer-employee relationship;
• Establish partnership, agency, or joint venture;
• Guarantee tuition confirmation;
• Guarantee income or fixed work;
• Provide entitlement to employment benefits;
• Constitute formal employment experience.
All Registered Teachers operate strictly as independent contractors and are not employees of the Company under any circumstances.
5. Unregistered Teacher / Unregistered Tutor
An “Unregistered Teacher” refers to any Teacher who has not completed the Company’s registration process or whose profile is not stored within the Company’s CRM database.
Unregistered Teachers may not have access to Registered Teacher privileges, including application access to designated tuition posts restricted to Registered Teachers.
6. Registration
“Registration” refers to the administrative onboarding process whereby an individual voluntarily provides academic and professional information, completes the applicable service fee payment, and has their profile information recorded within the Company’s CRM system.
Registration signifies inclusion in the Company’s database for visibility and opportunity access purposes only.
Registration shall not be interpreted as employment, contractual hiring, job placement, or salary based engagement.
7. Student / Parent / Client
The terms “Student,” “Parent,” and “Client” refer to any individual or legal guardian seeking academic instruction, tutoring services, or assignment assistance through the Platform.
A Parent may act on behalf of a Student. These terms may be used interchangeably depending on context.
8. Tuition Post
“Tuition Post” refers to an academic opportunity announcement published by the Company within designated communication channels, including but not limited to:
• The official website;
• Registered teachers’ WhatsApp channels;
• CRM dashboard notifications;
• Internal communication systems;
• Any authorized digital platform operated by Beacon Tutors.
A Tuition Post may include details such as subject requirements, grade level, scheduling preferences, budget range, geographic or time-zone considerations, curriculum type, or specific qualifications requested by a Student or Parent.
Tuition Posts are published for informational and application purposes only. A Tuition Post does not constitute:
• A guarantee of assignment;
• A promise of confirmation;
• A contractual offer of engagement;
• A representation that the opportunity will remain available indefinitely;
• An assurance that the same opportunity will be accessible to all Teachers;
• A commitment that a Teacher will be shortlisted or selected.
Tuition Posts may appear in various formats, styles, or presentation structures depending on the communication medium in which they are published. Teachers may encounter Tuition Posts:
• On the website;
• Within WhatsApp channels;
• On CRM dashboards;
• Through internal notifications.
The style, format, or presentation of a Tuition Post does not alter its informational nature.
Furthermore, certain Tuition Posts visible on the website or communication channels may:
• Represent inquiries received in the past;
• Be displayed as illustrative examples;
• Be retained for demonstration purposes;
• Reflect previously fulfilled opportunities;
• Be shared for transparency regarding the nature of inquiries typically received.
Such posts are intended solely to provide insight into how tuition requirements are structured and what types of academic opportunities may arise.
The presence of a Tuition Post on any platform shall not be interpreted as:
• A current active vacancy;
• A reserved opportunity for any specific Teacher;
• A guarantee that identical or similar opportunities will arise in the future;
• A representation that registration will result in assignment to that specific Tuition Post.
Due to operational constraints, inquiry data across the website, WhatsApp channels, and CRM systems may not be refreshed continuously or on a daily basis. Teachers acknowledge that visible Tuition Posts may not reflect real time availability.
Registration or payment of any service fee shall not be construed as securing or reserving any specific Tuition Post previously viewed on the website, CRM, or communication channels.
All Tuition Posts remain subject to availability, operational allocation, competitive shortlisting, and independent selection by Students or Parents as defined under the Shortlisting Policy.
Teachers are advised not to rely on any individual Tuition Post as an assurance of assignment, but rather to understand that the Platform operates within a dynamic marketplace environment where inquiry frequency and availability may fluctuate.
9. Tuition Engagement
“Tuition Engagement” refers to the ongoing academic relationship between a Teacher and a Student or Parent following confirmation and commencement of scheduled sessions.
Tuition Engagement exists independently between the parties and does not establish employment with the Company.
10. Demo Session
“Demo Session” refers to a trial or introductory academic session coordinated by the Company for
evaluation purposes prior to tuition confirmation.
A Demo Session does not guarantee tuition confirmation or continuation.
11. Assignment Work
“Assignment Work” refers to academic writing assistance, research support, project guidance, homework assistance, or related academic services requested through the Platform.
Assignment Work must comply with academic integrity standards and applicable institutional policies. The Company does not endorse or promote academic dishonesty.
12. Verification
“Verification” refers to the internal administrative review of information submitted by a Registered Teacher for completeness and record-keeping purposes within the Company’s CRM system.
Verification does not constitute authentication of academic degrees, independent credential investigation, or legal certification of qualifications.
13. Support Agent / Support Executive / Channel Admin
The terms “Support Agent,” “Support Executive,” and “Channel Admin” refer to authorized representatives of the Company responsible for administrative coordination, communication handling, tuition publication, demo scheduling, and policy clarification.
