Teacher Shortlisting and Application Policy
Teacher Shortlisting and Application Policy
Beacon Tutors operates as a marketplace and facilitation platform that connects teachers with students and parents worldwide. The shortlisting and selection of teachers follows a structured, relevance-based process designed to ensure quality, fairness, and clarity for all parties.
1. Application and Shortlisting Process
1. Application and Shortlisting Process
When a teacher applies for a tuition opportunity that matches their skills, qualifications, availability, and profile details, the Beacon Tutors team reviews all eligible applications.
Based on internal relevance and suitability criteria, Beacon Tutors shortlists one (1) to three (3) verified teacher profiles for each requirement. These profiles are selected to best align with the student’s stated needs. The shortlisted profiles are then shared with the student or parent for independent review and decision-making.
2. Final Selection Authority
2. Final Selection Authority
The final selection is made solely by the student or parent. Beacon Tutors does not influence, guarantee, or enforce the selection of any teacher.
Selection decisions may be based on factors including, but not limited to, subject expertise, teaching style, academic background, experience, availability, communication preferences, or personal suitability. These factors remain entirely outside the company’s control. Accordingly, Beacon Tutors does not control or determine selection outcomes.
3. Visibility and Opportunity
3. Visibility and Opportunity
This shortlisting framework ensures that:
Each eligible application receives genuine and structured visibility
Only relevant profiles are presented to avoid overcrowding
Students and parents are able to make informed, independent choices
While consistent and relevant applications improve exposure over time, no outcome is guaranteed, and selection depends entirely on student or parent preference.
4. Cover Letter Requirement
4. Cover Letter Requirement
For certain tuition opportunities, teachers may be required to submit a cover letter or written explanation as part of the application process.
This requirement exists because:
Beacon Tutors operates a large global network
All applications are reviewed manually by human agents
A cover letter helps clearly explain how a teacher meets the specific requirements of the student or parent
Failure to provide a clear, relevant, and well-structured cover letter, where requested, may result in the application being deprioritized or placed behind other applications, regardless of the teacher’s overall qualifications or experience.
5. Applicant Responsibility
5. Applicant Responsibility
It is the sole responsibility of the teacher to ensure that:
All application details are complete and accurate
Required cover letters are submitted when requested
The application clearly explains suitability for the specific requirement
Beacon Tutors does not infer or assume suitability in the absence of adequate information provided by the teacher.
6. No Guarantee of Selection
6. No Guarantee of Selection
Submitting an application, being shortlisted, or having a profile shared does not constitute a guarantee of selection, engagement, or assignment.
Beacon Tutors provides access, visibility, and facilitation only. Selection outcomes are not within the company’s control.
7. Limitation of Responsibility
7. Limitation of Responsibility
Beacon Tutors shall not be held responsible for:
Rejection or non-selection by a student or parent
Preference-based or subjective decisions made by students or parents
Delays or non-selection caused by incomplete, unclear, or poorly structured applications
Outcomes resulting from insufficient effort, communication, or documentation by the teacher
The company’s responsibility concludes upon the presentation of shortlisted profiles.
Modification of Policy
Beacon Tutors reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify, amend, revise, or replace this policy at any time without prior notice, where permitted by applicable law.
Continued use of the platform, submission of applications, or participation in the network shall constitute full acceptance of the updated terms and conditions.
Policy Acknowledgment
By applying for tuitions and using the Beacon Tutors platform, all teachers acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to this Shortlisting and Application Policy in its entirety.
